Hi, I’m Opal

For me living in alignment means tuning into myself, listening to my intuition and following what feels good. I do this by quieting my mind through meditation & movement, giving my body what it truly needs.

As much as I enjoy creating time for stillness, I also enjoy staying active. I find this helps to ignite the fire within and keeps my passion for helping others alive.

In addition to prioritizing fun off the mat and outside the gym, I like to balance my work with play so that I never feel deprived!

Peep my top five hobbies below to see what activities excite me. (:

  • • Spending time in nature

    • Self-studying holistic health, Ayurveda, veganism, sustainability & MORE!

    • Hanging out with inspiring & motivating people

    • Cooking (and eating) delicious vegan food :P

    • Dancing for hours on end!

Overall I strive to eat, live, and BE vibrant.

With that said my life wasn’t always sunshine and rainbows…

If your curious to learn more about my story, read on. (:

Opal’s Back Story

I wasn’t always a healthy vegan yogini who drinks juice, eats salads and practices mindfulness...

In fact I used to be rather unhealthy. My diet consisted of processed foods, I partied on the weekends and hadn’t even THOUGHT to incorporate mindfulness.

Back in 2016 I experienced a heart wrenching break-up that sent me into a downward spiral. I numbed my pain through food, alcohol and excessive partying. Eventually I reached my breaking point and came to the realization that what I was putting into my body wasn’t serving me, but rather harming me…

I no longer desired to numb my pain with substances but instead, longed to lead a life that allowed me to feel GOOD

I knew that in order to achieve my health goals I needed to make rapid changes to my overall well-being as the life I was living was DEEPLY unsustainable.

It was in that moment I decided to pursue a life WORTH sharing. One that is healthy, high-vibe, and radiates vibrancy.

Education

In 2018 I enrolled in The Institute for Integrative Nutrition.

It was during that time I underwent the most TRANSFORMATIVE months of my ENTIRE life!!

Not only did I learn how to replace my toxic habits with healthier ones, but I also learned that maintaining “good health” isn’t JUST about the food on our plate… It involves other areas of our life, such as our relationships, career, spirituality, etc., and increasing the health of those too!

When I learned to zoom out and look at the entire person rather than focusing on specific parts, the way I viewed health completely CHANGED!

After completing my health coaching certification at IIN, my hunger to learn more continued. In 2019 I graduated community college and by that time, had gained clarity on what it was I wanted to pursue.

Helping people reach their greatest potential and THRIVE was my mission

I then went on to obtain my personal training certification through ACE, as I was always intrigued by the science behind building muscle.

Following that my mom left me to make a decision— either continue my college education or move out..

I decided to do neither and instead, went an alternative route..

Rather than pursuing a standard 4-year university, majoring in Exercise Science and minoring in Business, I discovered a consciousness-based college that peaked my interest.

I stumbled across Maharishi International University through a random FB and was in complete awe when I saw they specialized in Ayurveda and Integrative Health!

Due to my previous education at IIN, I was familiar with Integrative Health, however Ayurveda was fairly new to me. Once I learned that Ayurveda is the world’s oldest holistic healing system, as well as yoga’s sister science, I was undeniably interested!

Forgoing my research of MIU and Ayurveda, I was shown numerous signs from the universe that were undeniable. This ultimately led me to decide against the standard college I was contemplating and follow my intuition to Fairfield, Iowa, (which ironically is where I’m from)!

This is only the beginning…

Now that I’m “officially graduated” I don’t intend to stop learning anytime soon.

I’m a very multi-passionate person and am eager to deepen my knowledge on Ayurveda, sharpen my skills in the kitchen and further my yoga, as well as meditation practice.

The knowledge I’ve learned over these past seven years is absolutely priceless. From nutrition to sustainability, to mindfulness and vibing high, I look forward to sharing it all with YOU!
